Colin Breen Obituary

It is with profound sadness that the family of Colin Breen announces his passing which occurred in Winnipeg, MB on December 24, 2018.  He was born on October 27, 1980 to Michael Breen and Kate Serre (Richard) in Saint John, NB where he spent his younger years.

Colin is predeceased by his brother Rory, grandparents; John L. and Norma H. Breen as well as his loving aunts; Joy Gibson, Marlene Breen, Ruth LeBlanc and his uncle George LeBlanc.

In addition to his parents, Colin leaves behind his beloved daughter Aunix Lockyer Breen of Tatamagouche, N.S, brother B.J. (Korey) and their children; Brendan, Mitchel and Olivia, all of Moncton, NB, brother Devon of Saint John and step brother Kyle (Caley) of Saint John, NB and step sister Kayla Steinberg (Matt) of Ottawa, ON as well as grandparents Helen and Brad McCluskey of Saint John.  Colin was born into a very large family and therefore leaves behind several aunts, uncles and cousins.

From all accounts, Colin will be missed by a multitude of friends.  Colin really had a talent for anything he turned his hand to.  He worked at several jobs in his adult life was a very hard worker.  Colin was very much larger than life. He was intelligent and strong, very ambitious and adventurous. He was known to family and friends as charismatic, entertaining, generous and caring. He was well known for lending a helping hand to anyone; however he struggled with accepting help for himself. On December 24th, Colin lost his long battle with addiction and we, as his family, hope that this part of his life will stand as a message to anyone who knew or heard of Colin, that even the strongest among us can succumb.

If you need help, please seek it.

Colin’s family will accept visitors at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road on Saturday, January 26th between the hours of 1-7 PM.

In lieu of flowers, Colin shared his prosperity with many of us over the years, we would like to ensure the same applies to his daughter in his sudden and tragic passing on Christmas Eve, 2018. A trust fund has been created to assist with this and other costs that come with loosing a parent (counseling, travel to see grandparents etc).
