Charles Alfred Byers

With heavy hearts, the family of Charles Byers announces his passing, which occurred at Bobby’s Hospice on August 12th, 2019. Charles was born in Saint John on June 5th, 1941; a son of the late Charles and Beulah (Mason) Byers, and the loving husband of Lorraine (Gillette) Byers. Charles was a Heavy Equipment Operator at the Saint John Airport for many years, and was a member of the Men of Fundy. Along with his wife Lorraine, Charles is survived by his son Charles (Connie), daughter Valerie Mooney (Michael), sisters Laura Babineau of Ontario, Stella MacNab (Butch) of Saint John, 4 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Charles was pre-deceased by his son Ronald, and his brothers Robert and Richard. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitation on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 17th at 1pm, from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in the Blissville Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
