Welcome to the memorial page for

Charles Joseph Bryson

July 30, 1934 ~ October 26, 2017 (age 83) 83 Years Old

It is with great sadness, the family announces the passing of Charles Joseph Bryson on October 26, 2017 at Ridgewood Veterans Hospital.  Charlie was born on July 30, 1934 in Saint John, NB to the late Annie Beaver and was the loving husband of 62 years to Patricia (Walker) Bryson.

Charles began his adult life as a member of the military, serving in the infantry in Korea from 1952-1955, before transferring to bases in Petawawa, ON and Oromocto, NB, until 1968 when he left the military.  After the military he worked at Industrial Security, construction, and before retiring for the third and final time, he worked in car sales with Ultimate Auto.  Charlie was a jokester.  You’d never meet someone who tried to get people going more than him.   He was a talker and started conversations with anyone.  To meet him was to be his friend, despite the fact that he always said exactly what was on his mind.  He was stubborn, honest and stood up for what he believed in.  Charlie liked to say that he won the war, and was so proud of serving his country.  He and Pat raised 5 children together and Charlie liked to joke that his “son was #1, but the girls were bad.”  But there was no denying how much he loved and adored his children and grandchildren.  He was an adoring and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and all those who had the pleasure to meet him will miss him dearly.

Along with his wife Pat, Charlie is survived by his son Earl (Berdena), daughters; Marrianne (George) Bryson, Donna (Brian) Wright and Helen (Steve Cole) Bryson, 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren, as well as half-brother Aubrey (Linda) Woods and son-in-law William Robichaud along with many friends.  In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by his son William Bryson, daughter Beverly Robichaud, granddaughter Renna Wright and great granddaughter Ashley and sister Annie Janes.

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where visitation will be held on Monday from 2-8pm.   A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at 1pm at the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel.  Memorial donations in Charlie’s memory made to Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart & Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, Ridgewood Veteran’s Hospital or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by his family.
