Charlene Yvonne (Tucker) Gibbs

It is with heavy hearts, the family of Charlene Yvonne Gibbs, wife and best friend of Richard David Gibbs, announces her peaceful passing, surrounded by her family, which occurred on Monday, February 12, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB on May 26, 1954 she is the daughter of Charles Tucker and the late Dorothy (Darrah) Tucker.

Charlene (also known as “PP” by Richard) were High School Sweethearts and have been married for 43 years. She worked as a bank teller for the Bank of Montreal for 40 years. She had a natural passion of nurturing others and well known for her motherly heart. She placed her trust in God, demonstrating His love by her authentic connection with people. She made everyone feel deeply loved and seen. She was a skilled story teller which brought great joy. Her card ministry was one of her trademarks, loving others through handwritten messages. She enjoyed the ocean, her vegetable garden, trips on the river on her boat “Getaway”, but most of all she loved her spending time with her family, especially her “Boo”.

In addition to her loving and devoted husband of 43 years, Richard, she is survived by her son Benjamin Gibbs (Andrea), daughter Katie Gibbs; treasured grandson Cameron (“Boo”); brothers Stephen Tucker (Ida) and Eric Tucker; sister Shelly McCready (David); several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, on Thursday, February 15 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A celebration of her life will be held at Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, February 16 at 10:30 a.m. followed by a reception. Interment will take place in Hampton Rural Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in memory of Charlene may be made to the IWK Health Centre.
