Brian O'Leary

With heavy hearts, the family of Brian O’Leary announces his passing, which occurred on Saturday, June 1st, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Brian was born in Saint John on April 2nd, 1946; a son of the late Andrew J. and Jessie (Humby) O’Leary, and the loving husband of Lynne (Palmer) O’Leary. Brian was employed by Irving Paper for over 34 years, before retiring at 55. Brian was a very quiet, family oriented man who loved his animals; he always enjoyed walking his dogs, travelling, and boating on the St. John River with his childhood friends. Along with his wife Lynne, Brian is survived by his son Scott (Miranda), daughter Brenda Machum (Richie), brother-in-law Brian Palmer of California, sisters in law Marlene Jeffers (Jack), and Shirley O’Leary, grandchildren Sara, Ryan, Callum, Carly, Allie, Kian, Nathan, Lonan, Hailey, and Khya, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Along with his parents, Brian was pre-deceased by his brother David, and infant sister Carol Ann O’Leary.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitation being held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The memorial service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Bobby’s Hospice, or the Saint John SPCA – Animal Rescue League.
