Bertha Lynch

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Bertha Irene Lynch announces her passing that occurred on Monday October 15, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, following a brief illness. Born 1935 in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mae (MacKinnon) Morrison and wife of the late John Lynch. Bertha was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Her favourite saying was “grandma’s house, grandma’s rules”, even if mom and dad disagreed.  She will be greatly missed by her children Brad Lynch (Carol Babin) of Dundee and Shawna Spinks (Paul) of Quispamsis; grandchildren Troy Lynch, Amanda Maltais and Payton Spinks; brother John “Mickey” (Connie) Morrison. Her extended family included her dedicated lifelong friends, Melba, Eleanor B, Vera and the late Marion and Joan. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers Ross (Irene) and Bill (Lorena).

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road. Following Bertha’s wishes (she threatened to haunt Brad and Shawna if they did and they’re still scared of her even though she’s gone) there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family graveside service will be held in Ocean View Memorial Gardens at a later date. The family would appreciate donations made to the charity of one’s choice.
