Barbara A. Vicars

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Barbara Ann (O’Neill) Vicars which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, October 12th, 2018.  Born 1940, in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Cyril and Helena (Spear) O’Neill. 

Barbara is survived by her sons Terrance Vicars of Saint John, William Vicars of Hamilton, ON, Kevin Vicars of Hamilton, ON; daughters Cheryl Mitchell (Robert) of Saint John, Shelley Patterson (Bruce) of Public Landing; sisters Lois Ozkaynak of Saint John, Lorraine Van Hal (Tony) of Sussex; sister-in-law Christina O’Neill of Saint John; grandchildren Christy Bishop (Matthew), Bruce Patterson, Ashley Patterson (Niklas), Katie Beaton; great grandchildren Colin, Elyse, Carly, Carson and Kayleigh; special friends George and Ellen Carson; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.  Besides her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her husband William, brother Gerald and niece Teresa. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424).  A Memorial Service will be held at the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Wednesday, October 17th at 11 a.m.  A private family interment will take place at a later date.  Donations in memory of Barbara may be made to Romero House or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
