Barbara Lois (Ward) McDougall

Barbara Lois McDougall passed away peacefully on Monday, October 7, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on January 27, 1928 she was the daughter of the late Harold Gordon Ward and Gertrude Bridget (Culbert) Ward. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Earl Joseph McDougall on May 24, 1972; her brother Ronald Ward and sisters Doris, Audrey and Frances.

She is survived by her sons Ronald McDougall and James McDougall (Pam); daughters Linda Burbridge (Robert) and Mary-Ellen Theriault (Fred); cherished grandchildren Cheryl (Scott), Brianne (Keith), Brett (Jennifer), Amy (Chris), Jason (Rachal), Kimberley (Peter), Pamela and James (Sharon); 11 great grandchildren; sister Anne Louise Anderson and several nieces and nephews.

Following cremation, visitations will be held from Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Thursday, October 10 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A Royal Canadian Ladies Auxiliary Tribute service will be held on Thursday at 7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Stella Maris Church on Friday, October 11 at 9:30 am. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Remembrances in memory of Barbara may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
