Arthur "Junior" Fillmore Dunn

It is with heavy hearts that the family announce the passing of Arthur “Junior” Fillmore Dunn, husband of Norma “Nony” (Thompson) Dunn, which occurred peacefully at home on Monday, May 20, 2019. He was born on March 23, 1936 to the late Arthur and Anne (Allen) Dunn.

Junior spent his life as a truck driver. He worked for Steele’s Trucking for many years before his retirement. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed trailering and playing cards up at the hills with Chubb and Joe.

Besides his wife Nony, Junior will be sadly missed by his daughter Marilyn Whittaker (Dave) of Rothesay; grandchildren Kelli Whittaker of Quispamsis, Craig Whittaker (Alisha) of Elk Point, AB and Curtis Whittaker of Rothesay; great grandchildren Kingston, Cameron and Taylor Whittaker of Elk Point, AB; special niece Pam Thompson (Dave) of Saint John; sisters Elva Watson and Beverly MacDougall (Len Alchorn) of Saint John.

In addition to his parents Junior was predeceased by grandson Corey Whittaker; sisters Barbara Archer and Sylvia Parks; brothers-in-law Bob Archer, Donald Parks and Phil Watson.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Poirier and staff, Linda Campbell of Extra Mural and to all caregivers for the special care given to Junior.

Following cremation, visitation will be held at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Saturday, May 25 from 11 a.m. to 2:15p.m. with a memorial service at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel, followed by a reception. Interment will take place at a later date. Remembrances in memory of Junior may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
