It is with profound sadness the family announces the passing of Anne Louise (Allen) Stephen which occurred at Bobby’s Hospice on September 29, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.  Anne was born in Saint John on July 9, 1959 to the late William and Mildred (Carr) Allen and was the loving spouse to Andy Lawrence. 

They broke the mold when they made Anne.  Anne began by working in the Finance Department at City Hall in Saint John, but after 20 years she left to pursue her passion and opened her own dance school, Danceabililty.  She was ahead of her time in a lot of respects and many of the dancers from this area got their start because of Anne and learned so much from her.  She was a role model, a teacher, a friend.   She will be forever remembered for her kindness and generosity, her strength, her diplomacy and patience, her positivity and uniqueness.  She was dry, but she was so funny.    Anne was always pushing forward and was never willing to give up or give in.  She attended dialysis 3 days a week for 15 years, and instead of lamenting having to do that, she used that time wisely and made some of her best friends with the patients and staff of the dialysis unit.  She was a loving wife and mother and devoted grandmother who was taken far too soon and all who had the pleasure to meet this strong willed and unique woman will miss her so deeply. 

Along with husband Andy, she is survived by her daughter Heather, son Michael (Brittany), 3 grandchildren; Charlie, Jordyn and Reid, brother Reg (Marg) Allen, sister Margaret Price, sisters and brothers-in-law,  as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Doug Allen. 

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 from 10-11am with a celebration of life immediately following in the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel.  For those who wish, donations in Anne’s memory to Bobby’s Hospice or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by her family.
