It is with heavy hearts the family of Anita Mary Mazerolle announces her peaceful passing which occurred on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at the Loch Lomond Villa Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on August 25, 1925 in Bathurst, NB she was the daughter of the late Frank and Delores (Pitre) Christie. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Claude Mazerolle, brothers Clifford Christie, Angus Christie and Leonard Christie, her sisters Irene Godin, Ida Bertin, Lorraine Doucet and Annette Mazerolle.
Anita lived in Saint John for over 70 years. She had been an avid volunteer, volunteering for St. Rose of Lima Church, Meals on Wheels and the Loch Lomond Villa. She was a member of the Legion of Mary and the CWL of St. Rose of Lima Church for many years.
The family would like to thank all the staff of the Loch Lomond Villa for the loving care given to Anita and their support to the family.
She is survived by her children Claudette Taylor of Kitchener, ON, Raymond Mazerolle (Geneva) of Advocate Harbour, NS, Daniel Mazerolle (Brenda) of Willow Grove, Frank Mazerolle (Carol) of Saint John, Robert Mazerolle (Margie) of Saint John and Linda Albert (John) of Kanata, ON; 20 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren.
She is also survived by her sister Sr. Emilie Christie of Moncton and many nieces and nephews.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 11, 2018 at St. Rose of Lima Church at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens Cemetery, followed by a reception in the reception area of Fundy Funeral Home. Remembrances in memory of Anita may be made to the Loch Lomond Villa Foundation; New Brunswick Lung Association, Alzheimer’s Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
