It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Amedee Roy which occurred at Shannex-Embassy Hall on Monday, November 18th, 2019. Born 1912, in Legaceville, NB, he was the son of the late Bernard and Elizabeth (Savoie) Roy. Amedee was a Welder with Irving for 50 years, retiring in 1989. He enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors.
Amedee is survived by his daughter Leola Brown (Bill) of Grand Bay-Westfield sons Ulysse (Lynn) of Quispamsis, Marc (Sherry) of Quispamsis; sisters Irene Essen of Toronto, ON, Edna Welner of Saint John; grandchildren Shelley Little (Dale), Cindy Getchell (Raymond), Lisa McEachern (Poma), Laurie Roy (Wendy), Michael Roy (Helen), Debbie Boudreau (Stephane), Chris Roy (Coral), Kelley Watt (Jack), Jason Bower, Natasha Donovan (Brandon), Heather Kirk , Ashley Kirk, Madison Kirk, Nicole Kirk, Chloe Donovan, Colton O’Donnell, Amanda Kirk; 16 great grandchildren; as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents, Amedee was predeceased by his wife Edna, son Norman (Ruth), daughter Odette (Bill), sister Helen and granddaughter Patti-Jo.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Wednesday, November 20th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place from St. Marks Catholic Church (171 Pettingill Road) on Thursday, November 21st at 10 a.m. followed by an interment at St. Joseph‘s Cemetery. Donations in memory of Amedee may be made the Canadian Breast Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
