Alphonse "Al" Joseph Cormier

December 1, 1921 ~ July 25, 2017 (age 95) 95 Years Old

With heavy hearts, the family of Alphonse “Al” Cormier announces his passing, which occurred on July 25, 2017, at Liberty Lane, Ridgewood Veteran’s Wing. Alphonse was born in Caraquet on December 1st, 1921; a son of the late Emile and Eugenie Cormier, and the loving husband of Adrienne (Boudreau) Cormier. Alphonse was a proud veteran who served his country in World War II, with the 14th Field Ambulance. After the war, he returned to Saint John and founded Vet’s Taxi. Surviving are his daughters; Dianne Cormier of Toronto and Joanne Montes of Saint John, son Dennis Cormier of Ottawa, and grandchildren Natasha, Caroline, Johnny, Shelby, and Mitchell. Along with his wife and parents, Alphonse was pre-deceased by his son Donald, brother Basile “Joe”, and a half-brother, Frank Hebert. Alphonse’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Liberty Lane at Ridgewood Veteran’s Wing; your love and compassion will never be forgotten. In keeping with Alphonse’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. A private graveside service will be held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Ridgewood Veteran’s Wing Comfort Fund would be greatly appreciated.
