It is with great sadness and heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Alan Shaw surrounded by his loved ones at Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, January 31st, 2018. Born 1952, in McAdam, NB, he was the son of the late Hazen and Goldina (MacKay) Shaw.
Big Al, was the President of a Local Union for many years. He also operated heavy equipment on many work sites throughout Saint John and New Brunswick. Alan was a talented singer and songwriter. He went on to produce a single that could be heard on local radio stations. He enjoyed and appreciated a simple life that included music, cars, wildlife, politics and good conversations with his family and friends.
Alan is survived by his son Anthony Shaw of Saint John; daughter Donna Flinn (Kenny) of Quispamsis; sister Lynn Laking (Lloyd) of Fort McMurray; grandchildren Alanna, Aliyah, Brooke; His Special Love, Rose Densmore and her 3 children; nieces and nephews Charro, Gibson, Tracy, Sandy, Angela; as well as many friends. Besides his parents, Alan was predeceased by his brother Hazen Shaw. Honorary Pallbearer's, Norman Dewitt, Steven Dewitt, Greg Swim, Stephen Harvey
Services will be held on Tuesday February 6th, 2:00 pm at the Baptist Church in McAdam, 30 Rockland Drive.
Donations in memory of Alan may be made to the Diabetes Association of New Brunswick, Heart and Stroke Foundation, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
