Steve A. Hayward

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Steven Andrew Hayward, which occurred on Tuesday, April 16th, 2024.  Born on November 8th, 1958, in Saint John, he is the son of the late Theodore and Christina (Grant) Hayward.  Steve worked as a Welder, Pipe Fitter and Scaffolder.  He was a jack of all trades.  He enjoyed going for walks, fishing, doing home repairs and tinkering with everything.  His grandchildren were his pride and joy and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. 

Steve is survived by his son Steve Bowes (Heather Flewwelling) of Quispamsis; daughter Michelle Sweeney (Brad) of Saint John; brother Dale Hayward (Shirley) of Sussex; sister Susan Beyea (Lloyd) of Saint John; grandchildren Theo, Mariellis and Bradley; cats Simba, Mitzy and Taylor; as well as nieces, nephews and friends. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424) with visitation being held on Monday, April 22nd from 2 to 4 p.m.  A Memorial Service will take place in the Fundy chapel on Tuesday, April 23rd at 11 a.m.  Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  Donations in memory of Steve may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, SPCA-Animal Rescue or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
