Helen "Dena" Dunphy

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Helen Eldena “Dena” Dunphy on Sunday, April 21, 2024. Born in Saint John, NB, on November 5, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Russell Fulton and Edith (Roberts) Helpard. Helen enjoyed spending her time knitting, crocheting, and cooking.

Helen is survived by her children Anne Carter (Brian), Michael Baird (Robin), Roberta McCaig (Tom), Peggy McLean (Arthur), and Lori Dunphy (Glen); grandchildren Angela, Mark, Graham, Tabitha, Allison, Aaron, Taylor and Arika; and great-grandchildren Brooklyn, Colton, Karissa, Hailie, Cohen, Preston, Kendall, Luca, Isabella, and Layla.

Along with her parents, Helen was predeceased by her husband Edward “Eddie” Stanley Dunphy; stepfather Walter Helpard; brother Harold Fulton; and her infant daughters Elizabeth and Angela.

Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (646-2424). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 10 AM. For those who wish, donations in Helen’s memory may be made to Vondy House – Hospice Miramichi or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
