Daniel Alfred Gardiner

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Daniel Alfred Gardiner on April
19, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born in McAdam, NB, on February 23, 1950, he was
the son of the late Fred and Ernestine (Hunt) Pickett.
Prior to his illness, Dan loved the outdoors, including hunting and spending time at his
camp. He also enjoyed traveling, including many winter months in Florida, and trips to
Alberta to see his three grandsons, who he cherished every day.
Dan was a very proud and long-standing 49-year member of Ironworkers Local 842.
Dan is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Nancy (Peterson) Gardiner; son Todd
Peterson (Carrie); grandchildren Alexander, Thomas and Connor; brother Dana Pickett
(Kathy), sisters Marylou Blair (Wendell), Cheryl Donahue (Roy), Kelly Stern, and Joyce
Pickett, and sister-in-law Karen Hunt of Alberta.  Also survived by many cousins, nieces and
nephews.  
Along with his parents, Dan was predeceased by his brother Douglas Hunt, and infant
sister Bernadette.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Wilson and the entire staff of the
CAM unit at St. Joseph's hospital for their compassion and care. Their acts of kindness
will never be forgotten.

Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road,
Saint John, NB (646-2424). A private, family interment will be held at a later date.

donor’s choice, or an act of kindness in memory of Dan would be appreciated.
