Charlotte Engelina Mersereau

It is with heavy hearts, the family of Charlotte Engelina (Jansen) Mersereau announce her passing on March 22, 2024, after a brief illness at Rocmaura Nursing Home, Saint John.

Charlotte was born in Amsterdam, the Netherlands on May 12th., 1934, to the late George and Johanna (Schaaf) Jansen and immigrated to Saint John in 1951. In 1970, she married and move to Grand Bay - Westfield, a community she grew to love. After retirement from over 30 years in the insurance industry, Charlotte enjoyed spending winters in Florida as well as camping, dancing, playing cards and going to the casino.

Charlotte is survived by step-daughters Brenda (Giles) and Marilyn as well as many grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Charlotte was pre-deceased by her husband Vincent, step-son Albert, son-in-law Phil, siblings Johanna Bailey, Agnes olde Damink and George Jansen.

The family would like to thank the staff of Rocmaura Nursing Home for the care and support they provided Charlotte.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd., Saint John, (506-646-2424). Cremation will take place and a private family interment will occur at a later date.

Donations in Charlotte's memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Society or a charity of the donor's choice.
