Allan "Jomie" Logan Obituary

It is with broken hearts, the family of “Jomie” Ethelbert Allan Logan announces his passing at Turnbull Nursing Home on March 23, 2024. He was affectionately known as Dome, Domer, Allan, Dad, Grampy, Uncle, Brother, Friend, and was a fun-loving character, a dreamer, that brightened the lives of all those who knew him for his sunny disposition and positive outlook on life.

Jomie, was the youngest of 6 children, all born within a 10-year span. He and brother “Pete”, with only 14 months between them, were a dynamic duo from a very early age. They kept that very special bond and love, always. Born on February 24, 1952, he grew up in Woodman’s Point, close to the water. His passion for the water remained one of his greatest loves, especially spending days and nights on the “Island” (Kennebecasis) with his partner Bonnie.

Jomie is survived by his partner Bonnie Dexter, his children: Shelly Logan, Jason Logan; step children: Christopher (Michelle) Horrobin and Kathryn (Paul) Hansen, grandchildren and step grandchildren: Ben, Kassidy, Brady, Jessie, Jack, Sally, Tobias and Alma, whom he adored and brought an extra layer of happiness. His brothers Gary (Carol) Logan, Peter (Christine) Logan, his sister Marsha Graham, brother-in-law Tommy Worden, many nieces and nephews as well as Karen Logan, the mother of his children.

Jomie is predeceased by his parents Harold and Elizabeth (Cosman) Logan, his sisters Marilyn “Lynn” Worden and Carole Moore, his sister-in-law Joanne Logan, brothers in law Carman Graham, Donald Moore and Victor Walsh.

He will be remembered for his fierce love of family, his quick wit and that twinkle in his eye when he found something especially funny. He was a creative, highly skilled craftsman. A finish carpenter/builder and a knowledgeable heavy equipment operator/owner.

Let’s celebrate a life filled with laughter, a little mischief, a “Legend” that will be forever missed.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the extraordinary care provided by the incredible staff at Turnbull Nursing Home. Jomie appreciated all “his girls”.

The arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (506-646-2424). A celebration of life will be held at Brundage Point River Center in Grand Bay Westfield on March 27, 2024, from 2:00 pm – 2:45 pm with refreshments to follow. Private interment at a later date.

For those unable to attend in person, the celebration live stream may be viewed by clicking here and selecting 'Celebrating The Life of Jomie Logan' in the top right of the page.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice, or perhaps be kind to an unhoused person as Jomie was saddened to see the encampments and how we have accepted as normal that some people have no place to call home.
