Willard A. Stewart

It is with heavy hearts, the family of Mr. Willard A. Stewart, announce his passing which occurred on Monday, March 19, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, at the age of 88. Willard was born February 22, 1930 in West Point, Prince Edward Island to the late Stephen and Lucy (LeClair) Stewart.

Willard spent his working career as a foreman in the water department with the City of Saint John.  A devout catholic, Willard attended Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church where he was a head usher for many years and was a proud 4th degree member and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus #8094 and the 30-up club.  A proud loving family man, Willard and his first love, wife Isabella had many camping vacations with their children and then during their later years, enjoyed trailering at the TNT Campground. Willard was an avid bowler and won many champion competitions. Golfing was his favorite past time at the TNT.

Willard is survived and will be lovingly remembered by his wife Simone, children; Robert (Odette), Deborah Stewart (Tammy), Carol-Ann Makepeace (David), Harvey (Brenda) and Michael (Patricia). He is also survived by his stepchildren; John Pierre Simoneau, Michel Simoneau, Joanne Simoneau (Michael Ferguson) and Chantele Simoneau, brother Laurence (Mary) and brother in-law Thomas Wearing.

Willard will be remembered by his many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Willard is predeceased by his first love of 50 years, Isabella (Wearing) who passed away in 2004 and their infant son Mark Alexander who passed in 1962. He is also predeceased by his brothers; Arthur, Raymond, Harvey, Clifford and sister Dorothy.

Willard will be resting at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Tuesday, March 20th 2018 between the hours of 6-8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 21st 2018 at 12 noon from Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

To know Willard, was to love Willard, he was a good friend to many and will be forever missed by all who knew him.
