Theresa Sheila (Smith) Aucoin

It is with extreme sadness the family of Theresa Sheila Aucoin announces her sudden passing which occurred on Tuesday, October 24, 2017. Born in Channel-Port Aux Basques, Newfoundland, on June 6, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Cleophus (Brake) Smith. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Raymond “Butch” Aucoin on July 16, 2017, siblings Donalda Osmond, Diane Smith and Wallace Smith.

Sheila worked for Princess of Acadia Ferries for many years, then worked as a homecare worker, she was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, CWL, she enjoyed scrapbooking, but most of all she loved her family and doing for others especially for her son, nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her son Melvin Aucoin (Katie); siblings Audrey English, Allan Smith (Sharon), Cyril Smith (Linda), Guy Smith (Elaine), Jocelyn Corscadden (Larry), Arlene LeRiche, Colleen Clayton (Steve), Dean Smith (Christine), Randy Smith (Sheila), Rodney Smith; brother-in-law Norman Osmond; many nieces and nephews.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitation on Friday, October 27 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 4347 Loch Lomond Road, Saint John on Saturday, October 28 at 10 a.m. followed by a reception in the H.O.P.E Centre. Remembrances in memory of Sheila may be made to the H.O.P.E. Centre or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
