Steve Blanchard

BLANCHARD, Steven Thomas “Tucker”– It is with heavy hearts the family announces the unexpected passing of Steve Blanchard, beloved husband of Audrey Blanchard, which occurred on June 26, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born June 1, 1936 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Harold and Kathleen Blanchard. Steve was active in many sports and hobbies throughout his life and would do anything for kids. He was the vice president of Boxing NB, a member of the Canadian Amateur Boxing Hall of Fame, longtime member of Saint John Golden Gloves, a registered boxing official, and started the first Youth Bowling League at Chesley Lanes, where he was manager, in 1981.  At the time of his passing Steve was working for Enterprise Rental Cars.

Steve is survived by loving wife Audrey (Kerr); sons Ed (Cindy) and Steven of Saint John; daughter Angela (Dave) Martin of Saint John; grandchildren Joe, Sarah, Kelly and Riley; and great grandson Evan. Besides his parents he was predeceased by sisters Eleanor, Lena, Pat and Mary; brother Ronnie and beloved grandchild Robyn. Steve was the last surviving sibling in his immediate family.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday June 29, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with a reception to follow at Fundy Funeral Home. A private family interment will take place at a later date. Donations in memory of Steve made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
