Stanley Jerome Slattery

The death of Stanley Jerome Slattery, husband of the late Shirley L. (Wilson), occurred on October 2nd, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  He was born in Boston, Mass., on January 23th, 1930 he was the son of the late Joseph S. and Sarah ‘Sadie’ (Gillis) Slattery.

Stan was employed with Saint John Ship Building Ltd. and Ocean Steel as a crane operator.  He was a member of the Adanac Club and the Carleton York Club. 

Stan is survived by his son Erin Slattery (Candace), his daughter Patty A. Rathburn, both of Saint John, his brothers Robert (Thelma) and Peter all of Saint John, his sister Marilyn Parsons (Frank) of Hampton, his grandsons Ryan and James (Tammy), granddaughters Talitha and Katie, great grandchildren Sam, Olivia and Austin and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his step-son James Shields, step daughter Sandra Burke and his brothers Edward and James.

The family welcomes relatives and friends to join them at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424), on  Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.  A celebration of Stan’s Life will be held at Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 11:00 am.  Interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery.  Remembrances made to the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
