Stan Edwards

With very heavy hearts, the family of Stan Edwards announces his passing, which occurred at the Church of St. John and St. Stephen Home on April 13th, 2017. Stan was born in Saint John on November 30th, 1932; a son of the late Stanley and Alice (Waddell) Edwards, and the loving husband of the late Thelma (Trecartin) Edwards. During his working years, Stan was a Ferry Operator with the Department of Transportation; he then started his own businesses; S.A Edwards Burner Sales and Service, and Edwards Convenience; he was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 62.

Surviving are his children; Bruce (Maureen), Joanne, Marilyn (Terry), Debbie, Christine (Danny) Dryden, Glendon (Beth), Shi-Ann White, and Blake; 38 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, brothers Gerald (Denise), Malcolm (Cindy), David (Judy), John (Debbie), and sisters Brenda, Sharon, and Linda (Ken). Along with his wife and parents, Stan was pre-deceased by a granddaughter, Lisa Dawn. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of the Church of St. John and St. Stephen Home for their outstanding care and compassion.  

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424), with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, April 19th at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place in All Saints Cemetery, Clifton Royal. For those who wish, remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Alzheimer’s Society, or Muscular Dystrophy Canada would be appreciated by the family.
