Shirley Marie Boyd

It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Shirley Marie Boyd on Friday November 20, 2015 at the Church of St. John & St. Stephen Nursing Home. Born 1920 in Sackville, NB she was the daughter of the late Roland and Estella (Babington) Chase. Shirley was a long-time member of Main Street Baptist and Waterloo Baptist Churches where she sang in the choir and was also a faithful member of the Women’s Missionary Society. She was a kind and gentle person who loved animals and the Montreal Canadiens. Her generous spirit touched everyone she knew. She is survived by her son Ralph Boyd of Toronto, ON; daughter Marsha (Terry) McDonald of Dartmouth, NS; grandchildren Aaron of Carp, ON, Brenna, Colin and David all of Halifax, NS and Craig of Toronto, ON; 5 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Doreen Chase.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road. (646-2424). By request there will be no visitation. A private graveside service will be held in Cedar Hill Ext. Cemetery at a later date. Donations may be made to the Church of St. John & St. Stephen Nursing Home.
