Ruth Sewell

 Ruth Sewell of Glen Falls passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday December 3, 2016. Ruth was born in Saint John February 12, 1925, the youngest of 12 children of the late George and Ida May (Marr) Fillmore.   Ruth was a member of Glen View United Church, in her younger years was on the board of elders, a life member of UCW and was devoted to church and community by serving as Sunday school teacher, Cub leader and leader of the CGIT girls; was past president of the Glen Falls Home and School Association and member of Coldbrook Community Center. In 1963, she was one of the founding members of Glen View United Church Ladies Bowling Group. She loved to knit, crochet, sew and do bead work and was a talented seamstress. Ruth is survived by her daughter Cheryl Boudreau (Brian), son Daryl Sewell (Shirley); daughter-in-law Carol Sewell all of Saint John; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her husband Ralph Gordon Sewell, son Murray Sewell and all of her siblings Muriel, Myrtle, Lillian, Greta, Grace; Harold, Brundage, Stewart, Willard, Sterling and Ernest.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) By request there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at Glen View United Church, 8 Uplands Road on Wednesday December 7, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Private family Interment to follow at Gondola Point Baptist Cemetery. Donations in Ruth’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to Glen View United Church or the charity of the charity of the donor’s choice.
