Rufin Joseph Maillet

November 8, 1927 ~ June 23, 2016 (age 88) 88 Years Old

Rufin Joseph Maillet, loving husband of Janet (Wallace) Maillet, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at the Kennebec Manor Nursing Home. Born November 8, 1927 in St. Louis De Kent, NB he was the son of the late Augustine and Ombeline (Daigle) Maillet. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his son Anthony Maillet, daughter Patricia Vautour, sister Rita Sonier and brothers Aurele Maillet, Edgar Maillet and infant brother Leonce Maillet.

Rufin worked for Atlantic Sugar Refinery for 45 years. He was a 4th Degree in Knights of Columbus Council 6770, a member of Milford Community Centre and NB Seniors Federation.

In addition to his wife Janet, he is survived by his son Christopher Maillet (Donna) of Grand Bay-Westfield; grandchildren Tony, Jeffery, Jamie, Keri and Christopher and 10 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his bothers Leonce Maillet (Linda), Allison Maillet, Cajeton Maillet (Theresa) and Laurie Maillet; sisters Jean Robichaud (Aldei) and Carmella Archer; several nieces and nephews.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitation on Sunday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Rose of Lima Church on Monday, June 27, 2016 at 12 noon. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. Remembrances in memory of Rufin may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
