On Sunday, April 14, 2013, Peter Freelon Wright, loving husband of Kathy (Mersereau) Wright, passed away peacefully, in the presence of the Lord and surrounded by his family. Born in Saint John, NB, he is the son of Regina (Robichaud) Wright and the late Freelon Wright.  Peter worked as a Senior Terminal Operator for 30 years at Imperial Oil.  A second generation “oil man”, he followed in his father’s footsteps (previous owner of Wright Fuel).  Peter’s need to “keep busy” after his retirement led him to a position with RST Industries as a driver for a number of years.  He was a kind and generous man, well respected within his church and community.  He was also loyal and encouraging with a forgiving heart.  Peter was a wonderful example of a godly man and a true mentor to all; his love for Family and God were immeasurable.  He thoroughly enjoyed vacationing in Florida with family and friends. In addition to his loving wife Kathy, Peter is survived by his sons Shawn (Amy), Todd, and Cory (Tammy), all of Saint John; daughter Maryse (Chris), Dieppe; brothers Jamie (Linda), Saint John; Philip (Lisa) Woodstock, ON., Tony (Carolyn), Saint John; and Shawn, Toronto, ON., sisters Donna (Hal) Buffett, New Maryland and Paula (Glen) Theall, Public Landing; grandchildren Danik, Chanelle, Chloe, Shayla, Mya and Gavin, his former wife Gloria Wright, Saint John, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road. (646-2424). The family will receive visitors at Mission Point First United Pentecostal Church, 130 Mark Drive, Saint John, Tuesday from 6-8 pm and Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.   The Funeral will be held Thursday, April 18, 2013 from Mission Point First United Pentecostal Church, 130 Mark Drive at 2 pm. The committal will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, followed by a reception at the church.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Peter's memory made to the Mission Point – Missions Department would be appreciated by the family.
