It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Norman Dennis Gibbons which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, September 17th, 2016. Born 1949, in Joggins, NS, he was the son of the late Eric Reginald Dennis and Doris Evelyn (Ollerton) Gibbons. Norman worked as a Mechanic for O.C. Transpo in Ottawa for 31 years. He loved music and going camping. Norman cherished his gun collection, he was very generous and loving and was known for his great sense of humour.
Norman is survived by his loving wife Ann (May) of 38 years; son Mark Richer and daughter Michelle Dejong both of Winchester, ON; sisters Dianne Boulter (Gerard) of Oakville, ON, Donna Proulx (John) of Winchester, ON; grandchildren Cassandra, Jared, Jonathon, Dylan, Abby, Jaymi-Lee, Emmitt, Paisley; great-grandchildren Ozias, Ezrah and Freya; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents, Norman was predeceased by his daughter Jennifer.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with a Memorial Service being held from the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Tuesday, September 20th at 10 a.m. Interment will take place at a later date. Donations in memory of Norman may be made to Bobby’s Hospice or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
