Nathan Owen Lamey

It is with sad hearts that the family of Nathan Owen Lamey announce his unexpected death, at home, on January 12, 2018.

Nathan was born on June 19, 1980 in Saint John. As children, he and his big sister Dawn were inseparable. He grew up and attended school in west Saint John, attending Harbourview High School and later NBCC. When he was younger he could be found riding his dirt bikes, until an injury made that too difficult. Nathan prized his black Eagle Talon, found pleasure in many genres of music, liked to cook and enjoyed his Tim Horton's and most recently Starbucks. He loved DC/Marvel movies, sci-fi, American fantasy and was fascinated with different theories on the origin of life on earth. Time spent with friends was a big part of his life and he especially cherished the time he spent fishing with his lifelong friend Todd.

Nathan will be sadly missed by his mother, Valerie Lamey (Austin Sleigh), his father, Martin Lamey, sisters Dawn (Jeff) MacLeod, Leah Lamey and nieces Emma, Katie, and nephew Chase, his maternal grandparents Hilton and Louise Stewart.
Aunts and uncles; Julia (Norman) Costello, Teresa (Bernie) Blakely, Brad (Denise) Stewart, Wes (Natalie) Stewart, Melanie (Nathan) Jones; Joanne Lamey, Robin (Al) MacKinnon, Kevin Lamey, Allan (Rita) Lamey; extended Sleigh family and many cousins.

He is predeceased by his infant brother Alex Lamey, paternal grandparents John and Wilma Lamey, aunt Billy Hatchette, uncle John Lamey and cousins Benjamin Costello and Jessica Stewart.

A celebration of life will be held from Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Thursday, January 18 from 2 to 7 p.m. Donations can be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
