Myrtle Etta LeRoy

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Myrtle (Clayton) LeRoy announce her passing on July 17, 2015 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  She was born in Saint John, NB in 1929, to the late Oswald and Ora (Jenkins) Clayton.

Myrtle grew up living a simple lifestyle and carried on that tradition once she married and had children of her own.  Her family were the most important thing to her; she was a very doting mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  Myrtle loved to cook and bake for family gatherings.  Her children and grandchildren will fondly remember her dinners made especially for them as well as the Christmas craft sessions with her granddaughters.  She was a caregiver all of her life, from being a mother and grandmother, to caring for seniors well into her ‘70’s.   She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her two sons; Luke and Fred (Pat), two daughters; Pixie (Glen) and Marlene (Jody), son-in-law Austin, two sisters; Eva Hunter and Shirley Dunn, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Along with her parents, Myrtle was predeceased by her husband Kenneth, daughter Shirley Gallant, Brother Les Clayton, and her loving grandson Travis LeRoy. 

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424).  Myrtle’s family will be welcoming friends to gather and share fond memories from 6-7:30pm on Monday, July 20, at the Fairfield Community Hall (1395 Route 111, Fairfield NB).  A Celebration of Life for family and close friends will follow at 41 McGraw Road in Bains Corner, NB.  Donations in memory of Myrtle may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, the New Brunswick Lung Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
