Marlene Savoie Obituary

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Marlene Florence (Boyd) Savoie which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday, April 3rd, 2018.  Born 1942, in Glenholme, NS, she was the daughter of the late Ronald and Florence (Urquhart) Boyd.  Marlene worked at the St. Joseph’s Hospital print shop for many years.  She was an active member of St. Joseph’s Church, an avid bowler and loved playing bingo. 

Marlene is survived by her sons Aaron and Ronald Savoie of Saint John; step-sons Gary Savoie (Cathy) of Grandbay-Westfield, Brian Savoie of Alberta; step-daughters Connie Kezar (Joe) of Ontario, Brenda Savoie of Grandbay-Westfield, Charlene Savoie of Saint John; brother Allison Boyd of Nova Scotia; sister Myra Savidant (Kenny) of Charlottetown, PEI; special friends Nancy Hatfield, Carol McNally, Tracie Dyker and Eileen McAndrews; canine companion Maggie May; as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.  Besides her parents, Marlene was predeceased by her husband Gilbert and brother Wayne (Sylvia).

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Thursday, April 5th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Joseph’s Church (4347 Loch Lomond Road) on Friday, April 6th at 11 a.m.  Interment will be held at a later date.  Donations in memory of Marlene may be made to the SPCA-Animal Rescue or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
