Marilyn Fanjoy

It is with great sadness the family of Marilyn Fanjoy announce her passing which occurred peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday November 26th with family at her side. Marilyn was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. She was born in Grand Banks, NL on September 23rd, 1954, the youngest daughter of the late Thomas and Maria (Whiteway) May. She was outgoing and hardworking and was an employee of the Atlantic Superstore in the Bakery department for 21 years. A devoted Cross Walk Guard for over 28 years and enjoyed going to Bingo; was a proud member of T.O.P.S. First and foremost in her life was family. Marilyn is survived and will be missed by her husband of 40 years Dennis Fanjoy; two sons Corey Fanjoy (Melodie) and Ryan Fanjoy (Melodi) all of Saint John; three brothers Jim May (Carol), Howard May (Jeannette) and Lloyd May (Marlene); sister Marge Green (Lorne) all of Saint John; best friend Joan Fizzard who was much like a sister; many nieces, nephews; friends and canine companion Timber, and feline companion Baby Girl.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). By request there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, November 30th at 10:00 a.m., followed by a reception. Donations in Marilyn’s memory can be made to the Breast Cancer Society of Canada, Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.

The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of the SJRH and special thanks to Joan Fizzard, Marge Green, Jeannette May and Marlene May for all the love and support given to Marilyn and her family.
