Madeleine Beatrice (Doucette) McIntyre

Madeleine “Beatrice” McIntyre, wife of the late Edgar McIntyre, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 15, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born June 16, 1927 in Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia she was the daughter of the late Percy and Hazel (Barry) Doucette. In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by her infant twin Beulah Doucette, twin brothers George Doucette and Gerald Doucette and brother Paul Doucette.

Beatrice was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed reading, knitting and cooking but her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family. She worked for St. Joachim’s Parish for 15 years.

She is survived by her sons Wade McIntyre of Quispamsis and Rodney McIntyre (Holly Stone) of Rothesay; daughter Roma Gigou (Louis) of Nerepis; sister Mary Doucette of Calgary; cherished grandchildren Amanda Rogers (Corey), Shane McIntyre (Lacie Anson), Jeremy Gigou, Jenna Galbraith (Rob) , Kelsey Leduc (Alex)  and Katey McIntyre; step granddaughters Lisa and Laura Wills ; great grandchildren Abigail and Caleb Rogers, Benjamin, Cameron, Hannah and Charlotte Gigou, Alice, Lily and Rose Galbraith, Avery Leduc, step great grandson Jaidan Anson; several nieces and nephews.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Friday, May 19 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 10 a.m. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, followed by a reception at the funeral home. Remembrances in memory of Beatrice may be made to SPCA Animal Rescue, First Steps Housing Inc. or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
