Mabel DeLong

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Mabel Eliza (Seely) DeLong which occurred at the Loch Lomond Villa on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2018.  Born 1926, in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Linus and Susie (Horseman) Seely.  Mabel worked as an Attendant at Centrecare for 11 years, retiring in 1982.  She has been a faithful follower of Jesus Christ her entire life.  She was a member of Greenwich Hill Gems Seniors.  She loved playing cards and bingo.

Mabel is survived by her sons Borden DeLong (Marilyn) of Browns Flat, Gary DeLong (Elaine) of Browns Flat, Harold DeLong (Brenda) of Greenwich Hill; daughter Sandra Jefferson (Ed) of Browns Flat; 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.  Mabel was the last surviving member of her immediate family.  Besides her parents, Mabel was predeceased by her husband Roy, son Thomas DeLong, brother Paul Seely, sisters Lena Brown and Maud Slann, and grandson Victor Arthurs.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation taking place from Beulah (229 Beulah Road, Browns Flat) on Friday, January 26th from 10 till 11 a.m.  A Memorial Service will follow at 11 a.m.  Interment will be held at Browns Flat Baptist Cemetery at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mabel may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
