M. Noreen Stephen

Noreen Stephen of Saint John, wife of the late Joseph Vincent Stephen passed away, at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a brief illness, on Thursday, May 19, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Born in 1929, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Sarah Bertha (McConomy) Barlow. In her earlier years, Noreen worked for Maritime Gardens as Office Manager. She enjoyed travelling, gardening, bird watching and especially time spent with family. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Noreen will be missed by her loving daughter Cee Cee Stephen of Saint John; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; great-great- nieces and nephews and friends. Noreen was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. Along with her parents and husband, she was predeceased by brothers Murray and Marvin Barlow and her sisters Edith Lowe and most recently, Joyce Dunlop.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Friday May 20, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. A Memorial mass will be held from St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 135 Simpson Drive, on Saturday May 21, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Cedar Hill Ext. Cemetery. Donations in Noreen’s memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Diabetes Association or the charity of the donor’s choice.
