Lorraine Mary Soucy

It is with great sadness the family announces the unexpected passing of Lorraine Mary Soucy of Apohaqui, which occurred on Tuesday November 29, 2016 at the Sussex Health Centre. Born 1952 in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Buckley) Mortimer. Lorraine was last employed as a secretary with Fundy Pros but had spent most of her career at Neilson’s. She was an avid shopper (most often with her sisters), loved her dogs Molly and Buddy and cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. Lorraine will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 34 years, Guilmont  Soucy of Apohaqui; sons Michael (Rhonda) King of Edmonton, AB and Mark (Lisa) King of Quispamsis; brother Walter Mortimer and sisters Aileen Gallant and Nancy Williams all of Saint John; grandchildren Joshua, Jordan, Marek, Brandon and Alexis; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Gale Mazerolle and sister-in-law Sharon Mortimer.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road on Sunday December 4, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Monday December 5, 2016 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family would appreciate donations to the Cancer Society, Bobby’s Hospice or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
