I am deeply saddened to learn of Mrs. Daigle's passing. I was just telling my sons some of my favourite stories from when she was my first grade teacher at Bayview in 1991. There was never, and never will be, a more kind, caring or aptly suited person to teach the first grade. She made each day one to look forward to. My children have since benefited from the methods that she taught me and it's through things such as this that will ensure that she lives on in the hearts, memories and teachings of every person who had the honour of knowing her. My sincerest condolences.

To the family of the late Lorna Daigle,

Lorna was such a wonderful teacher and I had very fond memories of my class with her in Grade 1 as her student. I recall one time I was pushed into a deep ditch full of water at lunchtime in front of Bayview Elementary . I was dressed in my winter coat and feared I would drown. She helped rescued me and drove me home (which used to be at 93 Topeka Street, East ) before moving to Baxters Corner for Grade 6 . I was all soaking wet in her car but she didnt seem to mind she was more worried about my health and delivered be home safe to my mom .I learned many math skills from the fun ways she would teach through play in class. She cared about her students and she will always be remembered for being such a wonderful teacher . I was so saddened to hear of her untimely passing and am sending my sincerest condolences to the family on your loss. With my deepest sympathy, Krista Godwin-McKnight,9former student), Family Educator, Family and Child Education Anglophone South,

Dear family of Lorna Daigle
As I read this abundance of tributes highlighting the life of your mother and wife I am so grateful that I got to know her in the last few years. I am also very sorry I never got to know her many years ago. Lorna would come and sit with us at Tim's in the mall very, very often. She added a great deal to our silly, and sometimes not so silly conversations. We will miss and continue to miss her for a long time.

Dear Ron, Mark, Janice and family

I am so very sorry to be hearing about Mrs. Daigle's passing. I wish I could be there in person to say these words to you & share just how special she was (but I know, you already know that)

Mrs. Daigle was my very first teacher, Grade 1 at Bayview.

As if it were yesterday (and I assure you it was 1984), I can still remember hopping around our desks to "Mr Peter Cottontail " for a break to stretch our legs & bouncing those little red, white & blue balls in gym class "1, 2, 3 O'Leary" . I am sure my love of learning started with her. She was patient & loving to all of us!

Mrs. Daigle loved being a teacher & all her "kids". Anytime I saw her over the years, we always spoke and she would give me a big hug and smile. As a member of Stella Maris, as a kid, I always remember feeling so special when she gave me my Eucharist by name "Body of Christ, Andrea". Of coarse she likely did this to half the church, but it meant something...

I will also never forget when my Dad (Peter Trites) passed away & she came into the funeral parlour & walked right over to me & gave me a big hug...it meant the world to me.

She never stopped loving her "school kids" and we have never stopped loving her.
Rest in Peace Mrs. Daigle!

The last time I saw her was 3 years ago at my Fathers funeral, I was so happy to see her on such a sad day. As soon as I saw her I lit up and got the biggest , most wonderful hug from her, we had a wonderful chat. I am so thankful for that time I got to spend with her. She will be deeply missed by everyone who had the honour of knowing her. She touched so many lives and will never be forgotton.

Had such a gut-wrenching experience when we received the horrible news about Lorna. She was such a kind, very unselfish, gentle woman with a great insight on life. We shared a lot of fun & laughs up country, as it was their welcoming place for all to visit. Lorna taught me a great deal of parenting & teaching skills, but always in her unassuming, gentle spirit. Her deep faith kept us all grounded, and always made for uplifting conversation. Such a positive woman, she will be greatly missed by all who have known her, esp Ron, Janice & Mark & Family. Our prayers & thoughts and most sincere sympathy. xoxo Love you, Lorna

She was very encouraging to me during any personal challenges . She always put me behind at my office ,simply because I hated for her to leave and we would keep right on talking! I have a golf keepsake she gifted me once right beside me on my bedside table as I type this . Her kindly manner and wonderful teaching manner have been a blessing to me as I've made the transition from practioner to teacher . I am so grateful for her being in my life . My 2 favorite memories were after I was hit by a car in Grade 1, on Courtney Ave, she asked all the kids in the class to make me "Get Well Soon" cards and delivered them to the house. The other great memory is every Halloween, you could always count on being invited in, and talk for a few minutes before being given special treats. Mrs Daigle will NEVER be forgotten.
