Leitha K. (Ryan) Bartlett

It is with profound sadness the family announces Leitha went to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ On August 26, 2016 after a brief but graceful battle with cancer.  Born on June 13, 1940 in Stanley, NB, she was the daughter of the late J. Allan and Laura (Hawkes) Ryan.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters Emily and Alice. 

She is survived by her sister Betty (Dick) Cavalero of Bathurst, brothers, Wilfred (Twila) of Stanley, and Joe (Donna) of Amherst, NS.  She will be greatly missed by her sons, Chris (Gwenn), Jeff (Sherry Wood) and Michael (Sandy) Bartlett, all of Saint John, and Darren (Lisa) Wilkins of Hampton, her grandchildren, Jacqueline (Scott), Tanya, Jordan, Mark, Cameron, Noah, and Erin, as well as many nieces and nephews, and her close friend, Karen McLeod.

Leitha was a thoughtful person who always had a kind word about everyone. She was a school bus driver and custodian for District #8 for a number of years before her retirement in June, 2008.  She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her children, watching their sports, and especially being outside with her grandchildren.  She also spent numerous hours in arenas throughout the province watching her youngest son’s passion for ball hockey evolve over the years

At Leitha’s request, after cremation, visitation will be held at Glen View United Church, 8 Upland Road, on Tuesday, August 30 at 1:00 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Reverend Steven Longmoore, followed by a reception in the church hall. Interment will be at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Glen View United Church Memorial Fund or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
