Larry McCaskill

With heavy hearts, the family of Larry McCaskill announces his sudden passing, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital, on October 8th, 2016. Larry was born in Saint John on April 20, 1947; a son of the late Gerald and Gen (Guidry) McCaskill, and the loving husband of Terry (Lizotte) McCaskill. During his working years, Larry was an electrician, and a proud member of IBEW Local 502; he retired in 2012. He was a car buff who enjoyed collecting Hot Wheels, models, pedal cars, and  loved going for drives to the junkyard; he’d often come home with more stuff than he took there. He also enjoyed building cars; the elephant pink VW, and the 4x4 Mustang were two of his projects. Most of all, Larry was a family man; he loved spending time with his family whenever he could. When he wasn’t with his family, he could be found tinkering around the garage.

In addition to his wife Terry, also left to mourn is his son Rick (Pam) McCaskill, daughter Dorianne Palmer, grandsons Jacob Palmer and Marshall McCaskill, granddaughter Annie McCaskill, brother Blair McCaskill, nephew Dean McCaskill, and special friend Rick Buckley. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Stella Maris Catholic Church, Bayside Drive on Wednesday, October 12th at 11:00a.m. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
