It is with great sadness the family of Kirk Richard Haggerty of Saint John announce his passing which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital with his family at his side on January 16, 2018. Kirk was born in Saint John March 29, 1966. He was the son of the late Malcolm Haggerty and Patricia (Cook) Haggerty of Yellow Knife, NW. Kirk was a skilled Mechanic by trade and worked many years for Jimmy Ralph’s. He also enjoyed many years working as a part of the family in Nova Scotia with Erb’s Farm working during the blueberries harvest and taking great care of the motors and machinery. Although Kirk was born to Patricia and Malcolm , after the death of his father at the young age of 9 years old Kirk found home on the farm and became a part of the Erb family. Barbara and Curtis Erb became his Nova Scotia parents and he loved them as much they loved him. Kirk is survived by his daughter Barbara “the apple of his eye” and son Curtis; two grandchildren Sophia and Connor; best friend Brett DeLong of Saint John; 3 brothers Harley of Parsboro, Malcom of Ontario and Johnny of Kingston Peninsula; the Erb family brother Albert Erb (Rosie) and sisters Dale Hoeg, Lynn Hebb (Kyle) all of Parrsboro and Helen Hadley of Amherst; and many friends. Along with his father, Kirk was predeceased by Barbara and Curtis Erb and a brother Charles.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424).By Kirk’s request there will be no visitation or service. A graveside service will be held in Advocate Cemetery in Nova Scotia in the spring. Donations in Kirk’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Saint John Regional Hospital or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
