Joseph Howard Briggs

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Joseph Briggs, husband of Louise (Coughlan) Briggs, announces his sudden passing, which occurred on July 28, 2015, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born in Passiac, New Jersey on December 5, 1942; a son of the late Herman and Dorothy (Nickerson) Briggs. Throughout his working years, Joseph worked for several companies: GE, Union Electric, and Irving; both the Reversing Falls service station, and the Golden Mile service station, from where he retired. He was a dedicated Yankees fan, and enjoyed playing cards, pool, and lawn bowling. Joseph was not known to complain; he was always happy, especially when spending time with his beloved grandchildren.
 

In addition to his wife Louise, he is survived by sons Joseph (Brenda) and James (Teri), grandson Corey (Shantel), granddaughters Shae-Lynn and Taylor, and a brother, William of Georgia. Joseph was pre-deceased by his parents, and a sister, Peg.
 

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424), with visiting on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8p.m. The funeral service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday at 10:00a.m. For those who wish, remembrances to the Arthritis Society or the Canadian Mental Health Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
