John E. Fournier "Grumpy"

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of John E. Fournier “Grumpy”, husband of the late Janice (Dunn) which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, May 29th, 2017. Born 1947, in Saint John, NB, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Hazel (Freeze) Fournier.

John was employed by Saint John Ship Building Limited for many years. He enjoyed the simple things in life such as spending time at his camp in Sussex and going fishing and hunting, in the winter he enjoyed  time on the ski-doo. John valued the time spent with brother Dougie and good friend Ken during their coffee dates.   The most important times in his life were spent with his family; he was a devoted father and cherished grandfather to his loving grandsons Ben, David, Michael and Andrew. John was an active and dedicated member of Glenview United Church.

He is survived by his four sons, Nathan (Katie), Mark (Cynthia), John , and Danny, two brothers, Danny and Douglas (Beverley), five sisters, Verna Youston (Gordon), Olive Oram (Ronald), Alice Vicars (David), Gloria Davis (Gerald) and Pauline O’Rouke (Karl), several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Charles, two sisters, Roberta and Helen.

Final arrangements entrusted to the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Although there will be no visitation, family and friends are invited to attend the funeral service being held at Glenview United Church on Friday, June 2nd, 2017 at 11:00 AM.
