Joanne Phyllis Fulton

Joanne passed away unexpectedly on 20 April 2018 and it is with shock and sadness the Fulton Family

announce her passing.  She was born in Saint John, to Hugh and Margaret (Brideau). She is survived by

her siblings, Theresa Smith (George), Hugh (Susan), Hazen, John (Barb), Mary, Alice, Fr. David, Neil and

Thomas (Michelle).

Joanne was a graduate of St. Vincent’s High School, class of 1983. She received a certificate in data

analysis from UNBSJ and diploma in office administration at NBCC. She was also a certified Personal

Support Worker until the time of her death. Joanne was a dedicated worker and cared about her clients. 

Her pet dog Tequila (Puppy) accompanied her often and was with her when she passed.

Joanne enjoyed many interests such as; snowshoeing, hiking, fishing, camping, toll painting, Swedish

weaving, playing guitar, and cooking.  Joanne was very adventurous and artistic, sharing her many

talents with friends and family.  Many will remember her boiled frosting and homemade cakes. She

shared her faith as an active member of her parish (Cathedral) as lector and RCIA (coordinator and

presenter).

Joanne is pre-deceased by her husband Dave Babcock, parents - Hugh and Margaret, sisters - Frances

and Rita, and special great Aunt Helen Caroll. She will be missed by her nephews and nieces; Shaun,

Michael (Jen), Matthew, Stephen, Allison, Johnny, Jamie, Jacqui, Nick, Katie, Andrew, Mya, and Connor.  

In lieu of flowers suggested charities include Bobby’s Hospice - Saint John, Cathedral Restoration Fund or the Cathedral General Maintenance Fund, or charity of your choice.

Visitation is at Fundy Funeral Home Wednesday April 25th, 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial at

the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Waterloo St. Thursday April 26th at 12:10pm. Interment at

St. Joseph’s Cemetery, reception to follow at Fundy Funeral Home.
