Peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family, Joan Gertrude (Turner) Nisbet, devoted wife of Ernest Nisbet of 43 years was called home to be with her Lord and Saviour in her 68th year on Friday, July 21, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Merrill and Doris (Trifs) Turner.
Joan lived her life as a very caring, loving, generous and giving person. She was devoted to her family, friends and also lending a hand to those in need. She was known as a hard worker, enjoyed baking and was truly devoted to her faith. The most important part of her life was spent being a devoted Nanny to her loving grandchildren.
Joan is survived by her husband Ernest, two sons; James Bradley (Etsuko) of Vancouver, BC and Justin of Milkish, NB, two daughters; Elaine Nisbet (Brent Crouse) of Milkish, NB and Anna (Shawn) Burdett of Bedford, Nova Scotia, brother, David (Sandy) of Bayswater, N.B. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren; Gabrielle, Jude, Conner, Lila and Alyssa. Several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Joan is predeceased by her infant son Joseph Allen, and brothers; Bill Turner and Donnie Moffet.
On behalf of our family we would like to express our gratitude towards the S.I.C.U at the Saint John Regional Hospital for the care and compassion provided both to Joan and our family during her stay.
Joan will be resting at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Visitation hours will be held on Monday, July 24 between the hours of 6-8 PM continuing on Tuesday, July 25 between 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM from St. Bridget’s Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 26th 2017. Interment to follow immediately at St. Bridget’s Cemetery.
