Joan Duke

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Mary Joan (Chamberlain) Duke, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, March 1st, 2017.  Born 1955, in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Orven and Amanda (Albert) Chamberlain. Joan was a stay at home mother who enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends.  She loved gardening and listening to music.

Joan is survived by her devoted husband Don Duke of 40 years; son Corey Duke (Kendra) of Saint John; daughters Krista Duke (Rob) of Saint John; Erin Duke (Richard) of Saint John; brothers; Carven Chamberlain of Bathurst, Gerry Chamberlain of Saint John, Donald Chamberlain of Saint John; sisters Shirley MacDonald, Rose Gunn (Earl), Linda Ferris (Peter), Lavina Carson, and Brenda Chamberlain all of Saint John;  grandchildren Cadence and Jaxon; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.  

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Friday, March 3rd from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.  A Funeral Service will take place from the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Saturday, March 4th at 9:30 a.m. followed by an interment at Ocean View Memorial Gardens.  Donations in memory of Joan may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
