Welcome to the memorial page for

Helen M. Brown

September 6, 2017

Surrounded by 3 generations of love, Helen “Nana” Brown passed away peacefully into the arms of her loving Savior at the Loch Lomond Village on Wednesday, September 6, 2017. There was nothing that brought greater joy to Helen than spending time with her family.  She spent her last days surrounded by those that loved her - singing, laughing, and sharing stories of the wonderful woman who shaped their lives.

The eldest of 12 children, Helen was born in Kapuskasing, Ontario, on February 8, 1930 to the late Kenneth and Mary (Martin) Henderson. The family moved to St. Martins, NB, in 1944 where she later met her husband and love of her life, the late Hallie Brown (1983). Together Helen and Hallie shared 31 wonderful years together and raised their 5 children in a devout Christian home where the importance of family was always the number one priority. Helen was known around the community for her famous “Helen Brown” decorated cakes. Nana’s door was always open, whether it be for a prayer, her baking, or a cup of tea and we take comfort in knowing that Heavens doors have now been opened to her. Helen did the mail route and had a school bus route for many years in the St. Martins area and was an active member of the St. Martins Baptist Church.

Helen was the matriarch of a large and loving family who will forever honor her memory. Helen was survived by her children, Glen (Pixie), Rod (Barb), Brad (Sue), Lori (Bob) Patterson, and Tammy (Chuck) Tofts; grandchildren Melissa, Joel, Jason, Dan, Melinda, Jackie, Holly, Sam, Jenna, Jamie, Matt, Doug, Jani, Karissa, Jillisa, Kelsey, Hallie, Ryan, Melody, Haley; great grandchildren, Jacob, Grace, Jayden, Nate, Alyson, Hayden, Brandon, Maddie, Jocelyn, Sophia, Izzy, Jaxson, Bryton, Mason, Liam, Annie, Quinn, Emmett, Jack, and Eve; sisters Irma, Lorena, Alma, and Marilyn; brothers Harold, Kenny and Jim; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents and her loving husband, Helen was predeceased by her brothers George, Ralph, and John, and sister Norma.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation taking place at St. Martins Baptist Church (211 Main St.) on Friday, September 8th from 2 to 8 p.m.  A Celebration of Life will be held at the St. Martins Baptist Church on Saturday, September 9th at 11:00 am followed by an interment at St. Martins Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the Loch Lomond Village (Willow House) for the wonderful care they provided for “Mama Brown”. Donations in memory of Helen can be made to The Loch Lomond Village, St Martins Baptist Church, The Parkinson’s Society, Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the Donor’s choice.
