H. Norman Stout

With very heavy hearts we announce the passing of Harold “Norman” Stout on September 2, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born in Saint John, NB on October 1st, 1948 to the late Harold Marshall and Mary Catherine (Mitchell) Stout.

Norman was employed by American Optical but following that became the Recreational Director for the Town of Sussex, a career he was truly devoted to.  Just like his father, Norman had a talent and love for music which stayed with him throughout his life, during his spare time, Norman was the Choir Master at St. Paul’s United Church and played the Bugle for many Remembrance Day Ceremonies throughout Sussex. He enjoyed gardening.

Norman is survived by his daughter, Jamie Patricia (Phil) Hutchings of Sussex and their children; Summer and Rowan. He is also survived by his sister, Liz (Jim) Rogers and nieces and nephews; Sarah Fowler, Elizabeth Stout, Noel Rogers and James Stout.

Norman will be missed by special animals, Troy and Desert.

 In addition to his parents, Norman was predeceased by his sister, Mary “Susan” Stout.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). There will be no formal visitation as Norman’s remains have been accepted to the Dalhousie Medical Research Center as per his request.

A memorial service will take place from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, September 5th 2017 at 1:00 pm.
