H. LeRoy "Roy" McLaughlin

Harry LeRoy “Roy” McLaughlin, loving and devoted husband to M. Eleanor (Torrey) McLaughlin passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 16, 2017 at Ridgewood Veteran’s Wing. Born in Saint John, NB he was the son of the late Charles Roy McLaughlin and Florence (Doucette) (McLaughlin) Griggs. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sisters Irene Vienneau and Delores Griggs.

Roy was a veteran of WWII serving with both the Army and Air Force. He worked for Northern Telcom for 35 years, retiring in 1983. He was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was a past member of the Westfield Golf Club, Roy also liked curling, traveling and music.

In addition to his wife of 68 years, Eleanor he is survived by his sister Norma Beckwith of Hampton; several nieces and nephews.

Eleanor would like to express her deepest gratitude to the staff of the Ridgewood Veteran’s Wing for the care and compassion they provided to Roy during his stay there.

In keeping with Roy’s wishes, there will be no visitations or funeral service. Burial will take place at a later date. Remembrances in memory of Roy may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Canadian Cancer Society. Fundy Funeral Home, (646-2424).
