It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Glenna Aileen Colwell which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, October 9th, 2016. Born 1932, in London, ON, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Glenna (Campbell) Stephens. Glenna was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed playing cards and knitting. She was a football fanatic and was involved with Cardiac Rehab Group, P.R.I.D.E. and R.E.A.D.
Glenna is survived by her spouse Austin Colwell of Saint John; son Ronald Cyr (Susan) of Greenwood, NS; daughters Gail Cyr (Randy) of Saint John, Jackie Hanson of Saint John; step-son Eric Colwell of Lebanon, NH; step-daughters Esther Colwell of Newport, NH, Cathy Luck (Tom) of Goshen, NH, Barbara Weller of Grafton, NH; brother Jim Stephens (Betty) of Waterloo, ON; sisters Dorothy Higgins of Toronto, ON, Isabel Pelloux (Regis) of Boston, ON; grandchildren Krista Hiscock, Chelsea Cyr, Jordan Cyr, Heather Cyr; as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents, Glenna was predeceased by her son James Cyr, daughter Jane Cyr, and brother Russell Stephens.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Monday, October 10th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, October 11th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place from the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Wednesday, October 12th at 11 a.m. followed by an interment at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Donations in memory of Glenna may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
